2017

Open Circle hosted two new groups of women to engage with an impressive range of art forms in 2017. Working collectively and individually the Open Circle members explored, print-making with Blackstack Fine Art Print studio, the ancient artform of paper cutting with Paul Bokslag which were subsequently exhibited for Yule Fest in McDonagh Junction Shopping Centre. Local artist Steven Aylin shared his skills with the Open Circle members in a lino printing project which culminated in a large collaborative printed fabric piece. This print and fabric piece and a selection of prints from a second group of women was subsequently very kindly donated to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny.

Open Circle Arts was delighted to offer Creative Writing workshops as part of our arts programme in 2017. A very successful series was on offer at the Open Circle house with Published Author Tara Heavey.
