In our artist-led programmes this year the participants engaged with a host of new ways of working and creating. Open Circle offered a space for women from Kilkenny to share ideas, conversations and to express themselves both collectively and individually, by trying many artforms in a supportive environment.

Open Circle members got hands on with local artist Julie Moorhouse in the creation of wire sculptural forms. Julie shared her insight and expertise in manipulating materials to create sculptural forms. Abstract painter Julie Cusack explored colour, paint and there potential to translate ideas over a number of weeks. Artist Carrie Lynam invited Open Circle members to make wearable artworks using textiles and a variety of surface pattern techniques such as stitch, fabric dyeing and material manipulation.
