Open Circle engaged with the National Craft Gallery to take part in Culture Night with an event that saw current members facilitate the public in an exploration of print making through drop-in workshops. The evening was an opportunity for the wider public to access a community art space and engage with art making in an informal social environment. Building awareness and promoting the project were key aims for Open Circle on Culture Night.
The audience numbers on the evening where strong, with 130 approximately visitors engaged in drop-in workshops. An overview of participants, demonstrated a wide variety of citizens engaging with the arts .Opportunities for intergenerational engagements were created on the evening, proving to be successful, with children and teenagers working alongside older participants in a social and relaxed environment. Culture Night was an opportunity for Open Circle to broaden its reach and engage with the wider community of Kilkenny.
